GENEVA, N.Y.—Two players on the Hobart College soccer team were recognized by the Liberty League this afternoon. Senior forward John Rosenbaum (Stockholm/Sundbyberg, Sweden) and first-year goalkeeper Phil DaCosta (Manchester/Manchester, N.H.) were selected as Co-Offensive Performer of the Week and Defensive Performer of the Week, respectively.
Rosenbaum netted a pair of goals last week to lead Hobart to a 2-0-0 record. On Sept. 27, he registered the decisive goal in a 2-1 home victory over St. John Fisher College. On Oct. 1, Rosenbaum displayed some crafty dribbling skills to provide the Statesmen with a late insurance goal during their 3-0 win over No. 21 Hamilton College. He is tied for second on the team in points (6) and goals (3).
In 180:00 minutes of action, DaCosta recorded 15 saves and posted his second shutout of the season. He turned away eight Cardinal offerings and registered seven saves against the high-powered Continental’s offense to shut out Hamilton.
Hobart (5-4-1, 1-2-0 Liberty) will hit the road on Oct. 7 as they face conference foe Skidmore College at 4 p.m.
